On May 29, 2026, Cheng-Tech announced that its InsightRadar centralized computing radar architecture, also known as satellite radar, had entered large-scale vehicle deployment with a leading OEM. As a core perception technology supplier, Cheng-Tech is supporting the implementation of advanced intelligent driving strategies with its radar technology and engineering capabilities.

At the same time, the project received the 2026 EAC Zhiyao Award – Intelligent Perception Innovation Technology Award, recognizing its technological innovation, practical value, and industry impact.

Satellite Radar Architecture Upgrades Perception and Enhances Safety Redundancy

Cheng-Tech InsightRadar adopts an innovative “front-end sensing + centralized computing” architecture. High-fidelity raw radar data is directly transmitted to the central domain controller, enabling deep decoupling of hardware and software and delivering approximately 100× more data than conventional radar architectures. Centralized computing also enables unified spatiotemporal synchronization and significantly reduces latency.

The radar delivers up to 6,000 point-cloud points per frame and a front radar detection range of over 400 m. It maintains reliable perception performance under challenging conditions such as rain, fog, dust, and haze, providing robust all-weather sensing for intelligent driving systems.

The satellite radar architecture also supports unified alignment and early fusion of multi-sensor data, significantly improving perception accuracy and redundancy and providing a stronger sensing foundation for driving safety.

As a key sensing technology for L3 and L4 automated driving, the architecture supports continuous OTA algorithm upgrades and provides high-quality sensing data for future Physical AI foundation models, helping intelligent driving systems evolve toward a deeper understanding of the physical world.
